   Some interesting facts

December 2012:- Comment received after our presentartion entitled 'Christmas Peace(s)' at Harewood House:-

" We had a thoroughly wonderful evening thank you it was something that, by ourselves, we would probably never have thought of. So that made it extra special. I think, as a choir, you are all superb. What really struck me was how disciplined you all are I did notice that,I can't quite remember which number it was, you all finished so abruptly together you really did leave me in awe."

June 2011:- Once again the Choir has opened the Plympton St. Maurice Summer Festival with their programme entitled 'On Top of the World' Through ticket sales and the generosity of the Civic Association, the sum of £400 has been raised, enabling  the Choir to donate to both Children's Hospice South West and The Devon Air Ambulance

For the Christmas presentations at St. Pancras Church and again at Harewood House in December 2010, the Choir was pleased to welcome Guest Member Andreas Hahn.(see -The Gallery) Andreas is a member of the crew of the German Navy's Bremen Class Frigate 'Rheinland-Pfalz (F209) which was moored in the dockyard for a few weeks.
He was able to be with us for several rehearsals as well as the performances. It was during the hospitality sessions after the concerts that he was introduced to, and developed a liking for,  Mince Pies!

The 2010 presentation for The Plympton St. Maurice Summer Festival, 'Summer Cabaret', enabled a further donation of £185.00 to be sent to Shelterbox on the Choir's Behalf. This was allocated to two boxes which were despatched to the Flood Victims in Pakistan on the 5th September 2010.

Our programme - 'The Best Things in life are Free', presented as the opening event of The Plympton St. Maurice Summer Festival at Plympton St. Maurice Church on the 19th June 2009,  has enabled the Civic Association to donate, on our behalf, the grand sum of £340.00 to Shelterbox, which has been linked to Box No. 36074, assisting those made homeless by the recent earthquake in Java.

One of our 'compilation' programmes entitled 'War & Peace', given in April 2008, with the help of Sherwell United Church, Plymouth, in aid of Shelterbox, enabled them to send two boxes to Inaruwa, S.E.Nepal. after the recent flooding.

Another of our compilations, (somewhat lighter in content),  'Rhythm of Life' was performed in June 2008 at Compton Methodist Church, Plymouth, in conjunction with The South Dartmoor Riding for the Disabled.  This very worthy cause benefited by a sum in excess of £257.00

The Choir is proud of the fact that, in 2005,  we were the first in the area to present 'The Armed Man' by Karl Jenkins, in its entirety.

As a result of our presentation of 'The Armed Man'  we were able to donate £250.00 to The Mustard Tree MacMillan Centre at Derriford Hospital.
